Android11 Beta features
Android11 Beta Version focuses on three themes: People-oriented,flexible controlandPrivacy and security.
1) People-oriented
Android 11 highlights the human element more, and is better at communication. It reshapes the way users communicate on their phones and allows the operating system to identify those people who are more important to users, enabling them to contact them more quickly.
Session notifications will be displayed in a special area at the top of the notification bar, with a design that highlights the contact person and provides session-specific operations, such as opening chats in the form of Bubbles, creating session shortcuts on the home screen, and setting reminders.
Bubbles allows users to keep conversations visible and accessible while switching between tasks on their phone. Message and chat applications can provide this new experience on Android 11 through the Bubbles API based on notifications.
The integrated keyboard prompt function brings users more convenient input completion and hints. The automatic form filler and IME (Input Method Editor) can safely provide context-based entity and string suggestions in the IME prompt list through this feature.
l Voice Access (Voice Operation). For users who completely use voice operation devices, Android now provides an integrated screen content perception function (visual cortex) for devices, which can understand the content and context presented on the screen, thereby generating tags and operation points for accessibility commands.
2) Flexible Control
Android 11 now helps users quickly access all smart devices and centrally control them:
l Device Controls allow users to access and control the devices they are connected to more quickly and easily. Simply press the power button for a long time to bring up the device control menu, and complete device control in one-stop. Applications can also appear in this control menu through new APIs.
l Media Controls allow users to switch the playback devices of audio and video content more quickly - whether it is headphones, microphones, or televisions. Users can now enable this feature in the developer options, and this feature will be enabled by default in subsequent Beta versions.
3) Privacy Security
Android 11 brings users higher control power, allowing them to better manage sensitive permissions.
l One-time Authorization: Users can now grant applications one-time permissions to access the device's microphone, camera, or location information. The application needs to request permissions again to access when it is used next time.
l Permission Auto-reset: If a user does not use an application for a long time, Android 11 will automatically reset all permissions associated with the application and notify the user. When the user uses the application next time, the application can request permissions again.
l Background Location: Google announced in February that developers need to obtain approval before allowing applications to access location information in the background, thus preventing the misuse of this information. Now Google is giving developers more time to make modifications, and Google will not force existing applications to comply with this policy before 2021.
l In Android 11, the number of updatable modules has increased by more than twice, and the 12 new updatable modules will more effectively ensure privacy and security, as well as bring better consistency to users and developers.
